CETAPHIL by Galderma unites forces to focus on hand health and safety with their "In Good Hands" initiative to fight COVID-19
- Health, hygiene and safety of hands are more essential than ever
- CETAPHIL contributes to the challenge communities face from shortages of alcohol-based hand gels, by producing hand gels and donating skincare products to support caregivers, and promoting effective hygiene practices
Lausanne, Switzerland, May 1, 2020 - One of the most effective ways to prevent the spread and infection of the coronavirus is to wash hands thoroughly. While clean hands are especially critical during these times, it is also essential to protect hands by hydrating to prevent increased risks of infection caused by cracked and dry hands.
CETAPHIL, a Galderma brand, has been caring for the sensitive skin of millions of people worldwide. Today, the brand is also contributing to the global fight against COVID-19 by concentrating its efforts where the urgency lies: protecting people's health, especially for those on the frontline.
Since March, CETAPHIL has joined the effort to ensure the community is "In Good Hands" by redirecting their production to address the global crisis and has converted manufacturing capacity in France and Canada to produce much needed alcohol-based hand gels. The company initiated the production and shipment of hand gels in several countries and has offered support to hospitals and healthcare providers at the forefront of the fight against the coronavirus outbreak.
In addition, since February, teams have been engaging with caregivers on the frontline of this health crisis by distributing skincare products to help keep their hands safe and healthy. The brand has donated cleansers and moisturizers to dermatology associations, pharmacies, hospitals, residency programs, and health care practitioners across all markets where the brand is present, including the United States, China, Italy, Spain, and more.
Over the past weeks, CETAPHIL has embraced an educational role, providing online simple washing steps for effective hand hygiene to keep hands healthy and moisturized. It is promoting good health routines, leveraging communications capabilities to remind people that one of the most effective ways to stop the spread and infection from the coronavirus is to wash hands meticulously.
Finally, the CETAPHIL team and Galderma are reinforcing efforts to support caregivers and frontline workers by donating face masks and protective gears to hospitals around the world.
Walter Geiger, Global Business Unit Head Consumer, Galderma: “During this unprecedented time, CETAPHIL is proud to count on the support of employees, suppliers, partners, healthcare professionals, and commits to continue to leverage its expertise and production capacity where possible, to support community initiatives and alleviate the impact of the coronavirus”
